Abstract

The research evaluated the effectiveness of the ENVI-met software as a teaching tool for improving understanding of urban microclimatology, as well as its potential application in training professionals in various fields. To this end, participants' perceptions of their user experience and the practical challenges associated with its implementation were analyzed. Conducted in 2024, the methodology included quantitative and qualitative analyses, with in-person, hybrid and virtual extension courses, in addition to questionnaires applied to students and professionals. The results highlighted the potential of ENVI-met to predict improvements in urban and environmental planning, despite limitations related to the cost of implementation and practical difficulties in teaching. The research reinforces the relevance of microclimate simulation tools in higher education and continuing education, contributing to urban awareness and the prospecting of future scenarios, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the cities involved.
